Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg, MD, PhD

Director and CEO of Germany’s Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim, Chairman of its Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and chair of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Heidelberg. Meyer-Lindberg received his MD from the University of Bonn and followed this with a PhD in Habilitation from the University of Gießen and an MSc in mathematics from the University of Hagen. His research focuses on studies of genetic and environmental risk factors of mental illness to explore the biological mechanisms of mental disorders, with emphasis on schizophrenia and affective disorders, cognitive dysfunction and neural mechanisms of complex social behaviour.
